Surf rod selection

I would like to pair a Shimano TranX 500HG reel with a suitable 2 piece, 11 or 12 foot casting rod capable of handling bait to 6 oz. and medium to heavy lures for bluefish and striped bass. The rods in my price range are either the Surf King or Graphite Surf and Jetty rods as listed on the Lamiglas website. Any advice is welcomed.

It will than come down to price point for you. If you are ok with spending a little bit more money but to get better quality, than I would go with the graphite surf and jetty. The graphite surf and jetty series has been around for a long time and you will not regret your choice. Hope this helps.

Can I use Powerpro with Graphite surf Jetty? I was thinking about the same setup :)

Looking for a good, all

Looking for a good, all around, surf casting rod. Prefer a two piece rod that can handle 8oz and bait. Please advise.
