Surf Rod Advice needed

I am heading to N.J this fall to surf cast for stripers and bluefish. I am looking for a spinning surf rod capable of casting 2 oz steel lures 1 mile or more or ( as far as possible ) I am looking at super surf series 9ft rod 1-3oz I need something I can cast for log periods of time that doesn't wear me out. Would this rod be the optimum rod? Or would a ten foot rod be better. Help! JIM

Hi....10 footers seem to be the most popular length these days, but we still sell plenty of the 9'. All depends on your personal preferences. Look at the Graphite Surf and Jetty series XS 10MS, rated for 2-4 ounces. This would be best for the bigger lures. The XS 9MHS is also well suited for throwing 1-4 ounce lures.
