Salmon rod for trolling Great Lakes

I have a Shimano 600LC and looking for the best rod to match it with for salmon trolling (downrigger) on the Great Lakes. I intend to use 30# PowerPro. Two questions:
1) Is 30# PowerPro good line to use on Lake Ontario for Kings?
2) What would be a good, economical rod ?

Thanks, I don't expect to be using this rod with divers . What about the CG 89 MHC? Can that rod be used with a downrigger as well as the 90 DR? I will be using this rod exclusively with a downrigger and I will be trolling mostly for steelhead, salmon, and lake trout.
