A friend ask me to join him to go to Astoria, OR for fishing on Yellow Perch. I need some advice on rod and reel.
Thanks,
naya

Yellow Perch is a freshwater fish about the size of a trout, though a little heavier bodied. Take your trout rod. I don't think their would any need to exceed say a 4-10 lb line rating on your rod and it may be beneficial if you are bank fishing to use the longest you have.
No one knows as much as all of us.
Do you mean sea perch? jetty or surf fishing?
I think he does? If so the rod of choice has been the X106mhc for a bait caster or a X10mts for spinning.
