What are the differences in these blanks? other than weight, butt and tip size... Which has faster action? more backbone? Which blanks are the TFX 7030 C and TFX 7030 CT built on? I can bend them in a shop to get a feel. I am going to be building a custom rod for Stripers/ blues and/ or possibly even Blackfish.
For Blacks, I see the GTF 90 1MH may be a little heavy as I'd only be fishing in depths up to 90' and 8-10 oz of lead. Though I can be wrong and I guess I could trim it to down to 7' more so from the butt to lighten it up a tad. Is this blank a reel beefstick? I feel if I go with this one, it would be a little heavy for Bassin and blues.
I'll be glad to give you some more info if need be. I'm being quick about it as I'm at work :)
Thanks. Best.

What blank is the BL 7040 C made off of?
TFX 7030 C = TXC 84 1M
BL 7040 C = CGBT 84 1MH
GTF 90 1MH is a 50 lb blank.

Thanks Spoon,
I think I narrowed down to two blanks. The CGBT 84 1MH or the CGBT 84 1M. I like a bend throughout the rod and saw that the Bl 7040 C has moderate action. Is the BL 7030 C built off the 1M? That would have Mod/fast action which isn't the worst. I'd be using the rod for Bass/ Blues/ and Tog.
Do you feel the 1MH would be too heavy for Bass/ blues? and the 1M too light for Tog and sinkers up to 8-10 oz? Thanks.
Your right about the 1M. Been years since I lived back east so I'll leave your question about blank selection to the locals. One place to ask might be the StripersOnline site.
