Help with 8' X80 MBCT rod?

I have a friend who is giving me a 8' X80 MBCT rod and I was wondering if I could use this fishing off a bank? I rarely go out on a boat and it just seemed like too good of a rod to pass up on. Any information would be great. Thanks.

We originally designed the rod for boat applications but the rod could work for bank fishing it will just depend on if it will have enough length for your applications.
