Hello
I recently purchased a 9 foot GSB1081M. I am looking to make it 7.5 feet by removing 1.5 feet off of the butt.
I was wondering if someone can help me with the guide placement? It will be for saltwater baitfishing , using a Shimano Tekota 600. Im going to us Fuji Silicone Carbide guides...size 20; 16; 2 x 12; 2 x 10; 8; and a 6.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank
Paul

Sorry...going with about a 15 inch cork rear grip, size 18 real seat, and about 5 inch fore grip.
Thanks again
Paul
Thats a lot of blank to remove, it will make the rod a lot slower action. To get the guide placement the easiest thing to do is palce the guides where you think they should go and then static test the rod, this will give you the proper placement of the guides. There are several sites that can give directions on how to do this. You might also check out a shorter blank like an 8 ft GLB where you only have to cut off 6 inches instead of 18, it will not effect the action of the final product as much. I believe that the GSB and the GLB blanks are the same thing.
