I have a 9'6 medium x96 jc-gh 6-15lb
I love the way the rod feels but the tip section is to soft! kinda like real whippy.. i have to run 10ft or so after setting the hook to keep it tought.. I lose alot of fish cause im not getting a good solid hook set..
Was wondering if they make a more firmmer tip section for this rod??

Have used that rod since at least 2000, never had your problem. Sounds like you have a line management problem, or may hold your rod tip in a position you can't set the hook from.
No one knows as much as all of us.
depends on what your seting the hook on. Steelhead? if so you dont need to set the hook much as they have soft mouths that rod wil set hooks on steelhead just fine i even use the 6-10 verson
Tight lines
wuld like to know if lamiglas makes a firmer tip section for this rod???

Unfortunately we do not make different tips for the same rod. I would suggest you take a look at the EXC 92 M for drift fishing. All of us around the factory prefer that rod over any for drift fishing. Hope this helps.

i use the same rod for all types of fishing for steelies- drifting with 3/16- 3/4oz, jig w fixed bobber, spinners. I do use it for bobber w/ eggs and heavy/ high water but for that i use my x10mtc....
I use a x96jc rod for 80% of my fishing and have landed 31/34 fish, and two or three gotta be from slack line quick qhip light hook sets, just dnt let off and that fish will be in. One bird's nest caused alot of line to be let out and when i retrieved the line there was a fish on the end to my surprize, i know that one was landed. good luck!
