I am recently looking to purchase a new salmon rod. I already have a Kenai King and was thinking about getting another until I checked out the new XCC 934 GH Kwik certified pro rod. I love the feel and action compared to the kenai king which is somewhat stiff and broomstick like, but still a great rod. I mostly bank fish and use styles such as bobber, hardware and drift fishing. I am unsure if the graphite/glass mix is good for this? Any help or alternatives?

If your gonna be doing a fair amount of drift fishing I would go with an all graphite rod over the graphite/glass rods.I own 2 of the XCC934 rods. They are awesome rods for in the boat pulling plugs or back bouncing but not the greatest for drift fishin. You might want to take a look at the X90HC. I have this rod and run in for drift fishing for kings and silvers. Hopefully this helps
