I'm looking at buying a new bobber rod. I have been trying to decide on which rod to get. I have narrowed it down to 2 rod the cert. Pro x96js or the cert. Pro x10ms. I mainly fish small to medium size river in washington state. Will be fishing mainly for steelies and running 1/4oz and 3/8oz bobbers with 1/8 to 1/4oz jigs. Any and all advice would be helpful. Thank you.

I think the 96JS is a better float rod, if I was looking for a float, spinner, bait rod and all were used equally or leaned a bit toward bait driftfishing than the 10MS wins hands down.
The 96JS also has a bit more power that comes in handy on all the smaller salmon species that like floats, and if a chinook steps up you have a fair chance at him also.
No one knows as much as all of us.
Thanks for the advice. The x96js is the rod that I was leaning towards. Just wanted to know if anybody else thought the way I did. Thanks again.

If you are using it as a dedicated float rod, I would say the exact opposite. The longer rod allows better line management as well as helps absorb a lot shock. You don't generally need the extra backbone with the extra limber rod. I have landed numerous steelhead in the 15 - 19 lb range on my 10 fter.
Hello
Between the two models you chose either rod you will be happy with. If I had one rod to chose from for a float rod that will work out very well for what you are doing I would go with the EXS 910 ML it is the XMG it is 9' 10" and is rated 8-12# test. It is a awesome float rod. Hope this helps.
