I am looking for a good rod for spring and fall chinook. Mainly for backtrolling quickfish but also anchored up in the hogline as well with qickfish, and also the occasional mouth of the Columbia/Ocean trip for trolling. Thanks for your help.

I prefer the 379BC Norwest Special. That is what I use for my clients. Good backbone with a soft enough tip so if a client drops the rodtip a little, the fish still remains hooked. Only thing I don't like about the 379BC is the reel seat is too small to fit a Shimano Tekota reel in it, my reel of choice for backbouncing and trolling salmon.
