I have this rod, Fathers hand me down custom built for a spin reel. My question is can this blank be transformed into a fly rod? what s-glass model would you consider to be the ultimate 7 weight fly rod?

That might be about a 7 or 8

That might be about a 7 or 8 weight if you were to convert to a fly rod. The S-Glass rods were tops back in the day
