Tropic Pro TP 8660 SP popping rod

Hi.

Looking for any feedback on the Tropic Pro 8' 6" 2 pc. popping rod; how it fishes/ how well it casts and who's using it for what.

Does anyone know the actual physical weight of this rod ? Is it heavy in the hand ? How does it balance ?

Was hoping to throw a new Sustain 10000 on it to use inshore for tarpon and some offshore plugging as well.

Is that line rating of 60-80 for braid or mono ?!?

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. DAVE.

The actual physical weight is

The actual physical weight is hard to say because when they are hand made there will always be a slight variance in the weight because one rod builder will use slightly more epoxy than another or a little bit more coating on the threads. With that said most will weigh between 15.5 and 16.00 ounces. It would balance fairly well with the Sustain 10000 but you might consider the 8000 as well. It will come down to a personal preference on the reel. The line rating is for mono but a lot of people fish braid so the line rating is just a guide line to go off of. Hope this helps.
