surf rod for crab snares

Im looking to purchase a multi purpose surf rod that can be used to throw crab snares from the beach and also used for surf fishing.
Is there a rod that can be used for both?
I have been advised at retail stores to use the ugly stick heavy 12' rod. The rod seems so cheap in quality.
I was looking at the Surf King or tri flex rods in 10' Any advice would help.

Either one will work for you.

Either one will work for you. If you are looking at better quality than I would definitely go with the Tri-Flex surf series. Something like the TFS 10 MHS should work great for you. Hope this helps.
