I was gifted a classic glas 86 Mhc for my spring chinook ventures. I went from catching 9 out of 10 with a 15 year old short beat up ghetto shimano to loosing 9 out of 10 on this rod. No joke. It doesnt seem like i can get a decent hook set with this rod. I fish the bank (running it with the boat), anchored with kwikfish, and troll, and would also like a rod I can fish sturgeon or in the ocean for silvers. What I have may be good for steelhead or Kokanee. It just seems to be a bit flimsy for these salmon without much control. Any advice would help. Is it okay for the rod to be in a u shape when the fish gets close. It seriously looks like it is gonna break. heard one crack already. So was thinking about an xcc 934. What do you think?
