I make a yearly trip to Kodiak Island during the Silver run. My current favorite rod is a Lamiglas Rogue River Special. I am taking my wife along for her first time this year and am going to let her use my "old reliable" and try something new. I am looking for recommendations as a replacement to the Rogue River model. I like the 8'6" length but am open to any suggestions.

How heavy of a rod are you looking for? I would suggest our G-1313-T as well. It is a great option for an Alaska silver rod.
My current Rogue River Special is a little heavier than that but I am interested in using a lighter rod. I like the specs on the the G-1313-T and will take a look. I have been running 20# braid on the Rogue River rod and am not fishing in much current and feel I have never really taxed the rod so possibly this lighter combo with slightly lighter line would provide nice action?
I don't mind spending the money for a great product I just want to feel that I am buying the right rod.
