The new ISI series of fly rods does hav the 3m nano technology. We have also taken the switch rod to a few of the reputable fly shop's in portland and had them cast the rod and tell us what they thought. The feed back was awesome, most said it was the best casting switch rod they had ever casted. Hope this helps.
Can you tell me what the average weight of the rod is?

Google "Lamiglas switch rod"
I'm excited to try my infinity SI switch when it gets out of the factory being rebuilt. Then I'd love to give you a review.

Do any of those fly shops carry these rods? I couldn't find a fly shop in Portland that carried any Lami fly rods let alone switch rods.
Have You tried Angler's Workshop? They usually have a decent representation of Lamiglas products. Give them a heads up and if it's available they can have something when you get there, as the Lamiglas factory is right next store. They've done it for me many times with blanks. If it's not available they will call you, so you don't waste time and fuel. World class people. I hear rumors there is a casting pond, though I've never seen it.
I think I saw some Lamiglas fly rods at Fisherman's Oregon City, but that was quite a while ago.
No one knows as much as all of us.
THANKS WOULD REALLY LIKE TO GET SOME USERS OPINIONS WHAT DO YOU MEAN BEING REBUILT?
I have been using the SI switch for spring steelhead here in SE Alaska, aside from the common bottom handle cork issue it has been a very effective tool. I have caught steelhead up to 20ish lbs with this rod using an Okuma Helios reel and Rio outbound 9wt line that I had lying around. I just wish that there was a better offering, other than just the 7/8, as its a little big for trout and a little small for Kings. As for the customer service, my only complaint is the turn around time on my replacement as I somehow broke the top section of the rod. I also have a Buelah Platinum 8wt Switch and I like it better, but its a little more$$$. Hope this helps.
PS-My profile photo is with the Infinity SI Switch.
Customer Service!!!!!!
Hello everyone, with respect to the feed back written on this forum about the Lamiglas warranty dept I would like to share my experience with customer service. I sent my rod to Lamiglas (esprit 908 4 piece) because it broke between the second and third pieces. It took a while to hear back because I live on the east coast of Canada, in Nova Scotia.
I heard back today from Scott in the warrenty dept. and he couldn't have been nicer. He was concerned that the esprit was discontinued so he couldn't replace it with a 4 piece. He hoped that I would be satisfied with their new ISI 908 as a replacement. Since the esprit was purchased in May of 2006 I am very pleased with receiving the ISI 908 as a replacement and I look forward to getting the rod on the water.
Thank you Scott and thank you Lamiglas for your great customer service.
