Jigging Spoons for Lake Trout

Can anyone recommend a blank that I can use with light line (or small diameter) and vertical jig 1-3 oz. spoons for Lake Trout? The great majority of the time, I will be using 1-2 oz. spoons, so I am looking for something on the lighter side.

I met someone from Lamiglas at a custom rod building show and he recommended the IMC 784 6’6”. I recently read an article in Fish Alaska magazine where the author stated that John Posey ("head honcho from Lamiglas") recommended the Tri-Flex Graphite BL6620C for vertically jigging cod.

I like the idea of using the same rod for the lighter spoons in Canada that can also handle 3 oz. but wondering if I really need two different rods. I can jig a 1-2 oz. spoon at 80 feet on a Canadian lake, no problem. This is really what I want the rod for.

Thanks,

The BL 6620 would be a good

The BL 6620 would be a good option for you but I would also take a look at IC 66 MH. Both rods should work great for you it'll boil down to just matter of preferance. Hope this helps.

Have you thought about an NZ

Have you thought about an NZ 84 2M?
