Puget Sound Black Mouth, Silvers and Lake Trout

I'm looking to widen my trolling spread, something in the middle of puget sound kings to trout/kokanee trolling rods. I I'm using a 10'6" medium action heavy power rod spooled up with 25# mono for puget sound kings and a 7' UL for the other end of trolling. I think I'm head in the direction of a 8'6" - 9' casting rod spooled with 15# mono. Something that will sit well on the rigger, make the mid size fish a better fighting challenge. A rod that I could cast would be nice also. Perhaps I'm asking too much from one rod? Any thoughts on Lamaglas rods that would fit the bill? Perhaps you could give suggestions in different price ranges?

So you are wanting a rod that

So you are wanting a rod that you can trout fish with and king fish with? The closest thing would be the G1313-T. A bit heavy for all your trout needs but if you are wanting to target kings than this would be the best option for you. Hope this helps.

I dont think you can get

I dont think you can get something that will work for both blackmouth and kokanee. The xcc 802 or 801 for trout, kokanne, lake trout. But id have a different rod for silvers and blackmouth. 1313 would do great for silvers lake trout and blackmouth but not that fun for kokes or trout.

Thanks for the advice,

Thanks for the advice, fellows. Yes, I like the blackmouth, silver, and laker rod possibility. Now, if I'm reading correctly, the 1313 has an extra fast action. Seems like it could be trouble on the downrigger with pre releasing off the clip? Perhaps would the xcc802 fit most of my desires, a one rod quiver for blackmouth, silvers, lakers, primary use on the downrigger but castable? Thanks again for all your help.

If you are wanting a great

If you are wanting a great rod for downriggers and casting you are really talking about two different rods. The XCC 802 would work fine for your downrigger use but as far as castability goes it is just way to soft. I would use the G1313 for casting and the XCC 802 for downrigging. Hope this helps.

Yea i cant cast my 802's i

Yea i cant cast my 802's i use em for plugs in my db. I fish kokes and lakers on lake chelan tho. I havent tried using the 802s on the downrigger yet but im sure it would work for lakers, bigger kokes and smaller kings.
