Im looking for a drift rod and was looking at the xmg series and found the EXC 89 MT will this rod cast light weights and will it work for springer bank fishing in the tributaries.

i have a 9"6 lami cascade pro xt. it is a wonderful drift/bobber rod for stelies.
Yes the EXC 89 MT would work wonderfully for that. Although the EXC 92 M would cast lighter weights better the EXC 89 MT would be a better option for tributary springers. Hope this helps.
iv got the xmg 89 and cert pro 89 and they work great for for drift fishing. Line weight will make casting much eaiser. 12lb test with an inch of pencil lead is no prob with my revo toro.

Fished a revo STX for about three days before I took it back and got the Curado 201E7..ive fished Curados forever and they have never failed me. Right now I have an XMG50 8'9 with a curado 301E7 on it..perfecto
