That rod is not designed for that much weight. We built these rods for steelhead fisherman who are looking for the most light weight and sensative rod money can. The idea being that you are typically using less than an ounce of lead. I would be very carefull swinging two ounces with this rod. Hope this helps.

most med/heavy steelhead rods are only rated up to 1 1/2 oz. Iv got the 8'9" and there rated 1 3/8. Just make sure you dont load the tip to much with that much weight. swing slow and dont cast far.
