Guide size and spacing GSH 961mt

I have a GSH 961 MT blank I'm making a hotshot rod out of using a factory made 8ft G-1330-T as a guide. It has a 16mm, a 12, 2 (10's), a 8 and 3 (6's). The guide spacing chart I recieved from a person at the Lamiglas warranty showed the G-1330-T used 4 (6's), 2 (8's), a 10 and a 12. Which should I try? The guides are Fuji Alconite spin,cast high frame. Thanks Tim

I'd go with a 12, 8, than 6

I'd go with a 12, 8, than 6 BLAG or CLAG to the tip. No need to use all the guides in the catalog to get good performance. You'll get a lighter, better performing rod by dropping the guide sizes as fast as the rod/reel/line combination you're using allows. If your using a wider spooled reel than say a Abu 6500/Shimano Charterboat 200 the 16 sized guide may help a bit if your doing any casting with the rod.

No one knows as much as all of us.

That just what I was

That just what I was wondering. I took a look at the new models today. And thats what they look like. Thanks for the info.I guess as long as the line is off the blank under load is all that matters. Thanks again Tim Fish On!
