I am interested in purchasing a couple matching plug rods for the drift boat. I know you have your new rods out that you have been pushing hard....and rightfully so. But I would like to get an honest opinion in comparing a couple rods, please.
If you have others that are similar feel free to offer them up, but these are the rods that I am curious about:
G1330-T
XCC 802
X 89 MTC
Looking at the specs the XCC is the more stout of the three. It also doesn't have as fast of a tip. I know its a fiberglass/graphite blend so how does it compare to that of the G1330T? Someone in the Lamiglas booth at the sportsman's show said to me quitely that he G1330-T was the best steelhead rod ever made. Fair opinion? What are the pros/cons when comparing it to the new 802?
Whats the deal with the X 89 MTC?
Thanks for the input.

The 89 MTC is the most stout of the three. I wouldnt use if for pluging. I own 2 of them the xmg and cert pro 89. They are more of a drift fishing rod. I like the 1330 but im leaning twords the glass 802. I havent got my 802's yet but i have looked at them a few times and there sweet. I might get a couple of classic glass blanks the 8'2" 1 peice 8-20 ones and make my own. I hate the chunky handle and triger they put on them so id put a thiner handle, more comfortable trigger. Put some solid heavy duty guides and its a sweet plug rod. Just an idea they're $35 for the blanks
