Hi,
I'm looking for a rod for multiple purposes (if that is possible).
I'd like a rod to fish for Columbia River Springers. Ideally, I'd also like to be able to fish for San Francisco Salmon (assuming one day we'll be able to fish again) using Downriggers from private boats.
I'm going to be fishing braid as the main line and would like to stay in the 8ft range.
Thanks

The perfect rod for you is the XCF803.

Josh,
Thanks for the quick reply. It looks like I am going to have a vacation change. Instead of Columbia Springers, it's going to be Buoy-10 in the Fall. Would you still recommend the XCF 803 for Buoy-10 and San Francisco or should I step up to a 864 or 904 (realizing that I'll have to go to a longer rod).
Thanks again
The 864 is a great rod for downrigging offshore. it's got plenty of backbone for the biggest of fish.
The 864 and 904 are better for the b10 fishery and great for the downrigger. The 803 will still work but the 904 is better for that.

The 1308/1314 Salmon Moocher/Kenai Special has been used for those applications for many years also. They are made on the same blank.
