Hi, I am looking for advice on selecting a blank for a salmon rod. I fish in a river in Upstate NY, the method used there is to use a fly rod with mono on the fly reel, often up to 2 ounces of weight is needed in the swift waters I fish to get the size 8 egg fly down to the fish, I use 20lb line with a 14lb leader for kings and coho,s. I want a blank between 9 and 10.5 feet. If it is a fly blank I want something very strong, like a 12 wt. What blanks would you recommend for my needs? Also is there a name for this setup, fly rod/ mono line? Any advice would be much appreciated, Thanks Mark
