Just getting into salmon trolling with downriggers off the San Francisco area. I was checking out the Classic Glass series but need advice on which model would be best bet for this area. We trolled both bait and lures. What is the main difference in uses between the 8'2"/8'6" models vs the 8'9"/9' models (other than the latter rods are rated to 4ozs) ? Thanks for your help.
The biggest differance is that the rods are rated all differantly and designed for heavier use as the length of the rods increases. It would really depend on how much weight you will be using and the average weight of the fish you are catching. Hope this helps.
