Looking for a steer on a new rod. I'm planning to get a new 11'-0" rod for surf/beaches and cape cod canal. I throw mostly in the 1-3 oz range....tins, poppers, swimmers, shads, etc. I use only braid, typically 30 or 40 lbs. I want an all-around rod that has good action for top surface lures, a strong backbone for larger fish, and one that can load very well to give me those long casts. I'm a Penn devotee, so the rod will receive either my custom 704Z bailless, or a Battle 7000.
I'm torn between either a Ron Arra Surf Pro or the Super Surf series of rods. Both seem like great rods, but not sure which to select. Love the Concept guides on the SS, but the RA has a nicer handle/reel seat assembly. Also worried if I will be satisfied with 2-piece rod (better for transport), or if I should go with 1-piece rod.....does the performance vary that much 1-pc versus 2-pc?
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated?

Well either rod will be a great choice for you it will just depend on how much you are wanting to spend on the rod. A one peice rod is going to perform a litlle bit better the biggest problem you will have with it is paying for the shipping and or transportation. You will be happy with either if it was me I would do the super surf but pick wich rod feels best to you. Hope this helps.
