Surf rod identification

I just purchased a SSU 120-1 MH, butt diameter is .726, the tip is a #9. Lamiglas catalog lists the SSU 120 1 MH as having 1.030 butt diameter, with a #9 tip. The packaging is dated 7/27/2010. Is this a medium / heavy blank as the bar code states?
