Plug Rod Options...

I need to get 4 new plug rods for my 18' by 54" Rogue Stealth boat. I fish big water so a 4 rod spread and longer rods are what I prefer. 8'9" - 9' would be perfect and something no heavier than 10-20 pound as they will only be for steelhead. 8'6" is absolutely as short as I would be willing to go...

I see this new composite series which really intrigues me, I know there is going to be some new models in this series available by the time the Fall steelhead season comes.

Will there be anything in the 8'6" or longer range that would work well for steelhead in this series?

Thank you for your time

In the new Kwick series we

In the new Kwick series we will be offering the XCC 903. Which will be a 9' rod rated 10-25lb. But that is as light as the new composite series will be going. All of the plug rods that are designed for steelhead are 1 piece and 8' in that series. Hope this helps.

Let me ask this, how much

Let me ask this, how much stiffer/more powerful will that XCC 903 rod be than the Certified Pro 8'9" Mag Action Rod you sold roughly 4 years ago? I believe you changed that model in the last year or so, I have experience with the one that would have been sold back in 2007 or so. I used to own 2 of those rods and they were sweet, traded them to a buddy "big mistake" and as far as I can tell, the ones you sell now have a different looking handle.

Thank you for your time, very much appreciated.

The 903 will be a little bit

The 903 will be a little bit more powerfull but not a ton. The older 8'9" mag taper and the new 8'9" are the same blank with the same components the older model just had a slightly longer forgrip. Hope this helps.
