Hi, total forum noob here.

I just broke the tip guide on one of my four G1308Ts. Rats. I got it fixed, but lost 1/2" of rod in the process. Now to the question:

I use the 1308s for both mooching, and on downriggers. These are older model rods - the graphite colored ones - and serve this dual purpose very well.

The new 1308s seem to be very different rods. What Lami rod would be the best match for my old-style 1308s? Relatively light, and moochable, but strong enough to crank over on the riggers? Oh, and where the !@#$%^ are the Freshwater Bay kings this year?
