I have been fishing for walleye for a few years now, but haven't caught much. I am about to get a boat and would like to get some new gear. So I would like to know what the best rod to troll bottom walkers and worm harnesses for walleye would be.

I use 1-1/2 oz bottom walkers and worm harnesses in the columbia river, what would be the best rod for this situation?

I would suggest something out of nour excel line up. The XL703C. Hope this helps.
For the Columbia, I would use nothing less than a 3oz walker. Rod, I like a 8'6 Medium rod like the Lamiglas classic glass. It's soft enough to let the walleye (or even sturgeon in the summer) grab the bait and be hooked before it even feels the rod resistance. Most importantly, you need to be able to feel the bottom and keep you walker on it.
