If you want you can put a drop of clear nail polish on them. It will also eventually flake off. But atleast you will be able to put a damper on the problem. Scratching will happen just by nature that there is a thin layer of paint over graphite but the flaking is weird? I found some copper nail polish and a clear nail polish so i can do the touch ups. Just don't tell the guys in my bass club that I buy nail polish... I get enough crud from the wife. lol
