I've got a drift boat and am looking for a rod that excels at pulling plugs on the Klickitat. We'll mostly be fishing for steelhead, but will occasionally go after the Fall Chinook as well. The place I buy my rods from doesn't have the 801, yet, and they've been steering me toward the 1313-T. Is that a good choice? What else should I be considering?

The XCC 801 would be the best option for just steelhead but if you are also going to target some chinook with the same rod I would suggest you look at the XCC 802. Soft enough for steelhead and yet has enough power in the back for chinook. Hope this helps.
It is the same rod. We are in the process of building the XCC models.
