I am looking for a light weight rod that I can use trolling herring both in the Willamette and also the Columbia. I would like to stay at 9ft or longer. I am not opposed to the old glass rods. Thoughts?

Dude at Joes recommended G 1326-T 9' 12-25# line. That was in my price range so I'm getting it for my birthday (Friday, can't wait). -FA
The G1326t is a great choice. If you want glass the XCF903 is good or if you like a little longer rod the XCF1064 is great.

HANDS DOWN xmg cert pro back bouncer!
Has a light enough tip to drown herring or pull spinners/plugs yet has a strong enough back bone to drop wobblers down 50' or ru divers at buoy 10 on a strong rip and land 40# hogs!!! hands down all around best rod! great for every application and did I mention its a one piece?
If I could only fish with one rod out of a boat for salmon for the rest of my life it would be this rod!
There are other rods that are great for specific applications, but sounds like your looking for a general all purpose rod! trust me you cant go wrong and will love this rod!
