Plug Rod?

I just recently got a drift boat and I am looking for a good rod for pulling small plugs for steelhead. I have been every where in town looking for one but cannot find one that seems to have what I am looking for. Anyone have a idea?

I would go with matching pair

I would go with matching pair of XCF 801's or the XCF 802's with a pair of Abu 5000's. They work great for pulling plugs, or bait divers. Plenty of back bone in them to land the big one's.

Here fishy fishy, here fishy fishy

fishassain has it wright the 801 is great for steelhead and coho. The 802 is better all around rod steelhead coho and spring chinook. but for the big plugs K14 and up the 803 is the one. Don"t forget the G1000 or rogue river rods both series have rods for plug pulling

As for plug rods, there are

As for plug rods, there are lots of options. River 1 nailed it on the XCF glass rods, but there are also the Classic Glass series, with the CG 82DR being a good choice for steelhead. In the G1000 series, the G1336-T, Flame Tip is a long time favorite. Bascially a soft rod, like fiberglass or fiberglass tipped will telegraph what is going on with your plug. If a rod is too stiff, like some graphite rods can be, then you can't read what the plug is doing as effectively....the tiniest piece of grass can go undetected if you don't have the right rod.
