Been out pulling plugs a couple times with slim results, but really enjoy it. I think I've been using the wrong type of rod from what I'm reading. I also hit the springers hard, especially with a prawn spinner.
I won a Classic Glass CG86MHC at a charity event...this seems like it might get me started....am I correct? In addition, I have a chance to buy a Rogue River RR76MHC from a friend. Would this be better or a good addition for the wife or kid-o?
For springers (backtrolling/backbouncing), I've been using a G1303-T "Back Bouncer".......would I be better off with another rod? I'm liking the feel of the glass better.
Appreciate the input!

The CG will be better for back trolling and prawn spinners but not for Back Bouncing bait. The RR76mhc is a perfect rod for backing out plugs and letting them sit and great for prawn spinners. If it were me I would use the RR for myself out the back and the CG on the side for guests.

And what's you suggestion for the 1303 Back Bouncer?
I would use it for backbouncing bait and for keeper sturgeon if you fish the lower Columbia.

Thanks Josh! We've been enjoying using those for Sturgeon! Funny you said that...

I use a XCF802 for pulling plugs and spinners for kings and I also use them for trolling swim baits in the CAL delta for stripe bass. This rod is made for just that kwick fish and plug rod. TROY, T-ROY'S GUIDE SERVICE

I've had good results using the CG82DR's as plug rods...they're soft enough to fish tadpollies for steelhead, and burly enough to fish Kwickies for fall kings...good all around plug rods!
Fish on...
