I am looking to get a 9' Ron Arra for east coast jetty fishing to catch stripers and bules. I will mostly use 1-2 oz lures. I am new to fishing and the rod had a lot of flex is that something I want or should I look into another rod.

The XSRA rods are not usually considered a jetty rod if you are one to lift fish and bang it on rocks. If you are a more careful person the 1084 would be fine. The SSU series is a little better built for your application. I hope this helps.
