I am looking for a rod that I can throw Lucky Craft 110 flash minnows and others for Halibut in the surf. I am trying to stick with graphite because of the sensitivity and ligth weight but am affraid that it might be too stiff for the application? I need something light thats going to through moderately light rip baits far with enough give so I dont pull hooks out.

I was thinking of the xc 724 its says its rated for 10-20lbs on the website but other stores say its 8-17lb. Which one is correct?

I like the extra length and I believe its has a slower action than the 704, but im not positive. Can you fill me in?
