OK here is the deal I have a rod for all occasions all but two are Lamiglas, my wife has started fishing with me a few times a year and she does not own a rod. The places she goes with me to fish are: Rye Patch which has Bass, Catfish, Walleye, Perch and some trout. Blue Lakes area for 1-2 lbs Trout. Pyramid Lake for Lahontan Cutthroat Trout which really fight and are 5-15lbs. Bilk Creek Reservoir pan sized Trout and small mouth bass. Last is Chimney Creek Reservoir is Perch, Walleye, and planted Rainbow trout. She refuses to get in a boat so it will be fishing from the bank or sometimes she will wade out a little ways so her cast can reach out there a long ways. Mostly she uses artificial lures (spinners etc.).
My question What one spinning Rod will do is all from the small pan fish to walleye to bass to Lahontan cutthroat?

Hello
I would go with either the G 1214 or the G 1215 both are 7' the 1214 is rated 4-10# test and the 1215 is rated 6-12# Hope this helps. Have a great day.

It has been 2 weeks since I started this thread and guess what I found in the storage room of near by hardware/sproting goods store. A NIB (old stock) TBS 86 ML for a very reasonable price, considering what it is. I have a feeling that it is going to be up to the task of converting my wife into a fishing nut and doing everything she wants it to do and more.
Jason or Josh will it work for good for the fishing talked above, I want your honest opinion.

I think you (she) will love it for everything except the small stocker trout and the panfish. And it would be easy to pick up something like a MBS702UL to fill the void there.
