X 106 MLS cert pro

Hey ,curious about this rod as I would like to buy one. First off, I really love 10lb rods for steelhead fishing second, my home river has somewhat of lower water flows than a lot of other rivers so i need light lead/slinkies to drift correctly. would this rod be good for drift fishing a river with light water flows? would the extra length help it casting a light offering?

thanks

I have this same rod but the xmg and love it. I dont use spininng rods for drift fishing. Altho alot of people use them side drifting from a boat witch is alittle different. I use mine for tossing small clear bobbers and 1/8 oz jigs for summer steelhead. So to awnser your second question, Yes this will toss light gear very far almost effortlessly. But all rods are designed to cast a certan amout of weight, if you overload this rod it will not cast as far. I do use this rod year round tho and have caught many large winter run steelhead with no problem.
