I was wondering if any one could tell me which reel they would prefer on this rod. I have narrowed it down to either a Stradic 3000, or 4000 and please tell me why. Thanks

4000, line capacity, holds and casts 12 lb or heavier line much better for winter fish or bigger B runs.
No one knows as much as all of us.
the brand doesn't matter. For a rod that is going to use up to 15lb line you want a reel that can handle the line capacity, a smooth and reliable drag is a must. I have had really good luck with Diawa Tierra's-sweet drag!!!!!!
I have 2 of these rods. there great rods. it depends what your fishing for and how much line u want to put on them. my rods have 3000 series reels on them. one spooled with 12lb and one spooled with 15lb. the rod with 15lb line I only run in smaller rivers with with heavy cover and lots of snags. if your fishing for steelies u can't go wrong with the 3000 series. smaller framed reel and lighter. good luck

I really like the Stradic 3000 and use them for all my steelhead spinning rods. Never used the 4000 but the 3000 has always worked well. I think it's a great size, with plenty of line capacity.
