Blank vs Rod specs

John,
Thanks for your advice on selecting a blank for an inshore casting rod. I was looking at the guide spacing chart and saw the GTF 84 1M is the blank for the TFX 7040 CT. The TFX 7040 CT is rated for 4 - 10oz lures and the GTF 84 1M is only rated for 3/4-3, why the difference?

We rate rods specific for

We rate rods specific for certain applications. With blanks we rate on the lower side. This rod model is not made to be casting 10 oz. So with the blank we rate them to be casting as well. That is why they are rated lighter. I hope that makes sence. Hope this helps have a great day.
