xcc rods

I've read here that the two versions of these rods, (rated at either 1-4 or 1-8oz.) are the same blank, just changed the rating. Which one is the latest version, did the rating go up or down? Also, I thought I would use this rod for
Pulling herring, Anchor Kwiks, Salmon float rod, and plunk for steelhead. Would you suggest this rod for all those apps? Thanks

Brownbear.....the rod has not

Brownbear.....the rod has not changed, but we did change the ratings after more testing. The updated ratings are 1-8 ounces on both rods. The XCC 934 is rated for 15-30 lb. test and the XCC 1064 is for 12-30 lb. test line. The great thing about these 2 new rods is that they are very versatile. They were originally designed for the Kenai for pulling plugs and as we found, make a great herring rod as well. For a float rod, they might be a bit softer than I would prefer, but would work in a pinch if that's all you had.
