1970's FL108 9f blank. Is it possible to cut it down into a spinning rod

My father just gave me this blank, from when he started building rods. Seeing as we both have a one piece FL 108 9f, one already built, I was thinking about cutting it down to 6'6'' and making it a spinning rod. Is it possible to do this without hurting the spine of the rod. I have previously built fiberglass blanks but I never cut one down. I'll take any advice as I can get, I don't want to ruin this blank. There is no reason why you could not. This will void the warranty though. As long as it will give you the action you are looking for. Have at it. I hope this helps have a great day.

There's still a warranty, on it even tho it was purchased in the early 70's?? And what does the 9F stand for? it's a FL 108 9F

SP....there is no longer a

SP....there is no longer a warranty on that blank. The 9F is 9 weight and the f is for fast action.
