I am considering a G1313S Mag Taper spinning rod for salmon mooching out of bodega bay, ca. Is this too light? I will be using 17-20lb mono and 2 or 3 oz mooching weights. I have plenty of meat sticks but thought something light would be fun.....

That rod would be a hair

That rod would be a hair light. If you want to stay with a lighter version the G 1311 might be a better way to go. Hope this helps have a great day.
