New to Northwest

I am new to the Northwest and I need help selecting a rod! The ironic part of my story is that I am a manager of a local sporting goods hunting and fishing department and my knowledge and experience in angling is very limited. I need a rod/reel that can work well for a multitude of different uses because I want to try different techniques for different species (limited to salmon/steelhead). I will be fishing from the bank nearly all of the time. I am reading a book on fishing for steelhead, and salmon using spinners so I will try that technique first. My funds are limited so I only want to get 1 rod that will last, and work in different situations (I know it wont be the best choice in all different situations, I just need it to work!). I think Lamiglas is the best choice because of the terrific reputation.

First off welcome to the Northwest. As far as a rod to get you going at a moderate price In a casting version I would go with the G 1310 T and in spinning I would run the G 1311. Both are 8'6" 10-20# line rating they are in our G 1000 series. They are a great choice for a rod that will do just about anything.
