Need a stiff rod with plenty of backbone

Hello All,

I am new to this forum and it's beyond 1st class once you get beyond the captcha code.

I bought eight 7' one piece lamiglass custom boat rods in 1985.
I'm still using so of these rods to this day. In spite of using
them for boat hooks at time to pull my boat to the dock.
Granted wrong application, but it's a testament to Lamiglass.

I am seriously looking for a very stiff glass blank in the 11' and over range
that can be modified to be used as a dipsy diver rod. Currently there
no commercial diver rods that have enough backbone.

Constant weight pull? I'll measure that once advice is given.
Magnum dipsy divers weight 7 ozs. Pull on the rod is 3 to 4 pounds estimated.

Diver rods in the great lakes usage need to get to divers to100' and deeper to
be effective.

Rod featured in the my avatar is a graphite from a competitor that was junk.
I recommended this rod to viewers of my website: www.michigansportsman.com.
Only to have this blow up in my face when these rods started snapping like pretzels.

Rod I'm looking to build is a dual use outrigger and diver rod. The longer
the rod, more clearance is given to the out n down long-arm downriggers.

Last 5' of this rod needs to be a club with little bend, then the 6' towards
the tip needs to be foregiving.

Been chasing salmon and trout on the great lakes for 43 years and I'm
looking to build 11' to 12' diver rods for wire line with roller guides.

I know the pros here can help and apprecaite any and all recommendations.

Thanks, from a new member!

John, Look no further than

John,
Look no further than the new XCC 1064. While this might not be as stiff as you would like, it is ideal for trolling for salmon, whether it's in the downrigger or rocket launcher. Lots of power and plenty of give to let Mr. Salmon hook-up solid.
