Hello, I have been using an 8 ft. spin casting rod to jetty-fish for stripers. I would like to get a 10' rod more suitable for patrolling the shore and surf casting. I was looking at the Graphite Surf and Jetty selections and was leaning towards the XS 101 MS but I'm not sure what the main differences between a spinning rod and casting rod are. Can you explain those differences and let me know if you think my choice might be a decent one for long-casting plugs and live eels? thanks.
