Glass Rod Info: Springers? Buying A Classic Glass Rod-should I get the 8'2" the 8'6" or the 9 footer?

Which rod length would you suggest for springers in the new Classic Glass series. I want to use divers and bait, pull plug cut herring, and then just sit on anchor with wrapped Quickfish.
Please give me your .02 cents worth.
