Hi i have just bought a Ron Arra Surf Pro Xsra 1203-2, 3/4-2 1/2 oz. lure
I bought this to use for river fishing for salmon and sea trout in Stockholm.
I was wondering if any one had experience in changing the Guides on this type of rod. And what the rod experience was after that change
We normally fish with 1 -3 ounce sinkers. and a main line with a fly
I have a one piece version of this rod custom built with Fuji MNSG (SIC) guides that are set up according to the Fuji recommende new concept guide spacing charts that appear in the back of there catalogs. The line flies through the guides!
If you remove the guides on the XRA rods just be very careful; that beautiful chestnut finish is a coating. When you remove the thread and old epoxy you will remove some or all of the chestnut finish.
Is it really necessary to change the guides on your rod?
